Denver Pyle (Uncle Jesse) 1920 - 1997
December 25, 1997 Denver Pyle died at Providence St. Joseph Medical Centre in Burbank. He died of lung cancer at the age of 77. He was best known for is role as "Uncle Jesse" in the hit Tv show the Dukes of Hazzard. He was a great actor and stared in many movies and tv shows. He played Caleb on Gunsmoke and Mr. Darlin' on The Andy Griffith Show. He was also a cast member on The Doris Day Show in the late 1960s and early '70s, The Life & Times of Grizzly Adams in the '70s. He was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday December 12th, 1997. He also stared in the Dukes of Hazzard Reunion which aired in the spring of 1996. He was born in Bethune, Colo and was named Denver because it was his mothers favorite city.
